Chepstow High Street

The scheme comprised two phases. Phase 1 entailed the refurbishment of White Lion Square and comprised 400 square metres Yorkstone paving, with associated granite kerbing and installation of tailor made street furniture.

Phase II consisted of the creation of a new pedestrian square and raised dias using bespoke materials, designed to reflect the marine history of the town. Associated works encompassed:
  • Block Paving & Kerbing
  • Drainage
  • Hard Landscaping
  • Ornamental Ironwork
  • Lighting including installation of Uplighters
  • Environmental Planting
  • Re-surfacing with Stone Mastic Asphalt

The scheme posed challenging traffic management problems and was greatly assisted by the use of an NEC ECC Partnering Contract – Option B.The scheme won the National Paving Award 2005 awarded by the Worshipful Company of Paviors.
