Tannery Bridge, Wiltshire
|
| The scheme involves the replacement of the existing bridge, which was constructed circa 1940 on existing brickwork abutments and piers predating 1812. The bridge spans the River Avon on an SSSI and there are considerable environmental and ecological issues. The scheme consists of two phases. Phase 1: awarded under NEC ECC Option E, included the provision of professional services and design development and value engineering as well as partnering workshops and public relations. Phase 2: involves the implementation of the works as was awarded under NEC ECC Option C and comprises; provision of temporary bridge, phased demolition of existing bridge, and replacement with new reusing the old brickwork to replace the old elevations. The scheme requires extensive piling – 68 No. 350mm bored piles to 12 metres using the KLEMM 702 Piling Rig, and the reinforcement provided by 6 x T25 x 8mm bars. |
