HOCHTIEF GRIFFITHS Joint Venture is a partnership between HOCHTIEF UK Construction and Alun Griffiths Contractors
The joint venture has been working successfully in the Principality for 10 years and has now successfully completed over £100 million worth of work, with a further £40 million currently under construction.
The first project to be undertaken as a JV was the Baglan Energy Park phase 2 project, an £8.0 million land remediation and infrastructure project in Baglan, Port Talbot. The ECC Option C contract was successfully completed ahead of programme and below target and was a “Constructing Excellence” award-winning scheme.
Major infrastructure projects carried out include the Welsh Assembly Government’s £40 million dualling of Section 4 of the Heads of the Valleys and the £28 million phases 1B and 1C of the Port Talbot peripheral distributor road for Neath Port Talbot CBC. The latter was recently awarded the ICE Wales George Gibby medal 2008 for an outstanding example of a civil engineering project.
Construction projects successfully completed include the Intertissue Paper Mill in Baglan, which consisted of a 3 storey Concrete Frame Structure, over 70,000m2 of both Warehousing and Roadways and a 2 storey office block, other works consisted of a Waste Water Treatment Plant, a Rail Head along with 10 km of drainage.
